First Day Out!

Today has been the first day thats been warm enough to let the chickens out. This is their first romp in their new home and although very hesitant at first they seemed to enjoy the space. It should be fun getting them all back inside for the cold weather tonight. I am still trying not to get attached and there is a "no naming" policy until we can figure out which are hens and which are roosters since we will need to "find" the boys new "homes" elsewhere.  Major and Deets layed closely by trying to decide "friends" or "food."

LOVE, love, LoVe, LOve

While looking through some of my favorite blogs today, I came across this article. With Valentine's Day looming, I thought this piece on the love that EACH of US has recieved pretty applicable. During a discussion with my little sister, Kelley, she wondered out loud how it seems that we TALK about this love a lot, but do we really PROCESS the profoundness? The little girl in this article seems to put it in words we can really understand. I hope you enjoy...

Winter Wonderful!

As I sit here and wait for the school to call issuing an "early release" announcement I thought I would post a few photos from our little snowstorm last week! There is always lots of excitement when it hits, but it's amazing how quickly the snow and ice GET OLD! (Unless it involves lift tickets and skis.)  I love the South!

View from the front door. The poor horses are huddled in that barn somewhere!

The back pasture was gorgeous!

Our friends Dean and Karsen Driver came over to enjoy the fun!

Giant ice cycle!

EVERYONE enjoyed the snow!

Ava and Karsen are HUGE buds! And, can you believe they are only 3 days apart in age!
Does the term "Mutt and Jeff" ring a bell?

BAM!!

Retreat!! Retreat!!

Enjoying a little snow ice cream after a hard day of snowball fights! (Notice Ava has already donned Aunt Kelley's old cheerleading outfit. It's a staple in our house!)

Watercolor Weekend 2011

Life's journey is easier when you hear a friends footsteps beside you...

 So, was it OLIVER...
or, Marco????

Ewwwwww! What's that on your eye???

Yep, the glamor of living on a farm just gets better and better...
THAT, my friends, is a TICK on Ben's eye! During morning coffee/couch time today I noticed it. Yuck, yuck, yuck! (Maybe worse than the time I was sitting in church with my friend Jocelyn and found one on his head! (Luckily she's a vet, so it didn't gross her out too much!)
